A Scary Match

So I've spent a better part of the last few days playing Tiny Tower on my iPod. Its great. Mostly because everything is so cute and tiny. I also started reading Matched last night. Which is another LDS young adult author. But so far its WAY better than Twilight. So part of Tiny Tower is giving people jobs and there are these number associated with their skill set in different areas, like food, retail, service, and so forth. Matched is a book about a society where they pick your "match" or future spouse as it were. You too are placed in jobs based on your skill set. So basically I had this weird dream where the characters in Matched were getting jobs in my Tiny Tower. It was quite odd.

Also for the record I'm kind of on team Xander, for anyone who understands that.

I also have a dream that I feel fair in blaming entirely on Nat. I was watching this really strange video of Saved by the Bell where Zach Morris gets to class late and is super confused because it an ASL class. It was super amusing because it was SO 90s. It was also really quick but I thought Nat would find it funny.

Also something to know about my life. We do family scripture and prayer every morning before my Dad goes to work and Jack goes to school. But because of my employment status as of now I usually go back to bed afterwards. So today when I was falling asleep again I had this super freaky dream where I was playing mini golf with my friends Katie and Maren. After the game we are walking around what appears to be a amusement park or fair. Katie decides to go to the haunted house and later comes running out in a crazed state. Maren and I go to her and try to calm her down and all she can say is "Look at the clock" She we walk over the the haunted house which is located on Hell St. and look at the clock. All I see is some weird image by the clock before I hear this loud noise.  In reality my phone was ringing. But it really mad me jump. Also it was Tucano's Brazilian Grill wanting to know if Divine Comedy wanted to schedule their Christmas party. I'm still not away from it I guess.

Gobble Gobble

Ok the title is misleading. I have no Turkey or Thanksgiving themed dream to share.

I did however have a Justin Bieber dream about a week ago. I was a spy working under cover at the Costco (hello Chuck). Things are going well enough until my cover is blown, or something to that affect, and we have a shoot out of sorts. My team arrives and we're shooting up the place, it was crazy stuff. But the most entertaining part for me was the fact that Justin is there, and is completely useless. I spend most of the time yelling at him to pull himself together. It brought me great joy.

But just the other night I had an epic dream. It was a LOST, HUNGER GAMES, MAD MEN, HARRY POTTER mash up. So Peeta and I are stranded on this island with a bunch of other couples. But also Don Drapper, and Dobby and Kreacher. And possibly Jack Shepard. And this really bad storm is coming in. So we all cram in this house and start to bundle up, because according to one person on the island its the cold that will kill you, apparently not the drowning. So I'm putting on about 5 socks while Don bundles up Kreacher and Dobby in plastic bags to keep them dry. Oh whats that? That's a TERRIBLE idea. Yeah no kidding. Not only does Kreacher dye, but Don gets knocked out by a fallen tree will he was outside with the little elves. I woke up while we were all still trying to find him.

So what did I get from all this?

I watch too much TV, and read too much HP and Hunger Games. Having a week off work may not have been the best idea.

Trick or Treat

Had a fun one this morning. It was one of those dreams when you've woken up but fall asleep again and you have a very detailed dream. So in the dream its Halloween morning and Matt, Kabe, Casey, and Whit show up at my house to celebrate Halloween with me. Now Whit soon switched to my friend Katie, and then she disappears all together, but that's not really important. The boys decided to come celebrate Halloween up in Portland to insure a fun time. So I get all dressed up in my epic wonder women costume and we head to Multnomah Village for their Halloween fun, and to show the boys where I work. It was an enjoyable dream. And it has forced me to admit I do miss my friends in Provo. But alas I don't see me making it out there any time soon.

So this ones for you Provo friends. Blog shout out!

Also these costumes my mom made for Jack and I were awesome.

Jack obviously went as Pikachu

And I was Wonder Women.

And Maddy went as Luna Lovegood. So basically us Greaves children are super nerds.

Sick

Man I have the best (and by best I mean weirdest) dreams when I'm sick.  So before bed last night I took some night time cold medicine.  From all the scattered dreams I can remember most of them had to do with me taking medicine or wanting medicine. At one point I was mixing cold medicines in an effort to sleep better. And then I had a really strange one where I was pregnant. Like I said, being sick does some crazy stuff to my subconscious.  And even with taking medicine last night I still woke up at 2:30AM and then 4:30AM. Lets just say work was super exciting today.

Defending Religion

So I had a strange combo dream that I think had something to do with Mad Men and Sister Wives. Yes strange combo indeed.  It first starts off in some cafe where I'm meeting Peggy (from Mad Men), so obviously we're in the 60s and I helped arrange this meeting so the father from Peggy's church (yes the one who is really just Collin Hanks) can meet with her and make her feel terrible about herself.  So we're having that awkward conversation for a while, but then Collin disappears and my parents are there and its modern time again.  And I'm attempting to defend the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to my parents, who appear to not be Mormon. I was trying, and failing to explain the Book of Mormon, and the Joseph Smith translation of the Bible. They were not being very nice about any of it.  It was an awful dream.

So first off I'm glad my parents are indeed members, and that I don't have to explain myself to them.  Second, I feel like watching an episode of Sister Wives has given me better comebacks when people play the polygamy card. And thirdly, I want Mad Men to come back so I stop  making up new story lines.

Hopefully some Downton Abbey will fill the void.

Party all the time

So I had this slightly amusing dream last night. Mostly because it involved me clubing.

So I'm out in downtown Portland hanging out with my friend from BYU and we come across this super cool looking building that happens to be a club. So my friend says "Lets check it out". When we come up to the door is has this little sign that says "great for FHE and ward activities". Which made my dream self wonder whether or not she was really in Portland or somehow back in Provo. So we walk in and it seems like a pretty cool place. Some good dance music, food, a hot chocolate station (because that exactly what I want when I all gross and sweaty after dancing). Then out of the corner of my eye I see to guys from my high school French class. So I go over and chat with them. Then a slow song comes on, and its like a stake dance all over again. One of my high school friends is about to ask me to dance when the BYU friend I came with swoops in and asks me to dance. Then there are awkward dance montages for a bit and then we eventually leave. It was odd, mostly because the place was totally fake, and I'm pretty sure I was dating the guy. Silly dream Alex.

But I won't lie, a tiny part of my wises that place was real.

Just Deal With It

So its been quite a while. Sorry. I haven't really felt up to writing. But I've got a few gems.

About a month ago I had this really weird dream. So the dream starts off with us getting ready, and then sending Maddy off to school. Then all of a sudden my parents are talking about moving to Utah. Which of course I assumed they were kidding. But then Dad has got himself transferred to the Salt Lake VA, and we're moving there. Our house was huge! and really close to a bunch of little shops, so it seemed like a nice area. Then all of a sudden its two years later and we want to move back to Portland. So we go to our house there, but people are living in it. Pretty much everything in my room is the same apart from the bedding. And Dad has to do some clever talking to get us back in the house. It was super weird. Mostly because I know my Mother would NEVER want to move to Utah.

Another quick one. I had a dream I had gotten a nose job when I was probably 13. It was really strange and now I'm paying more attention to my nose.

Then last night I had a dream in which I can only assume was out of solidarity with poor Jack who started school today. So I dream that something went wrong the year I graduated from High school and that my entire class had to do another semester at Wilson High School. I still had my college degree but had to go back to high school. So that was weird enough but the people who wanted to hang out with me at lunch were these people I've known forever (many since Elementary school), but haven't really been friends with on a good 10 years. I don't remember attending any classes, mostly I has just going to my locker and eating lunch. I'm so glad that phase of my life is done!

Well now that I'm still unemployed I'll try to be better at writing. I've got to keep myself busy now that all my sibling are back at school.

Until Next Time,
Sweet Dreams.
